New Suzhou mayor selected
Suzhou, on the farming moon of Weisshorn, has had a change of government.
Tillery Woodhen, the former mayor of the village, has stepped down to focus his energy on running the Cortex News Service from its headquarteres on Sihnon.
Griffen Shinn, who has been the sheriff, has been selected to take Tillery's place.
"So as Former Mayor Tillery Woodhen moves on to do his bidding, I here stand up to take his place as the Mayor of Suzhou," said Griffen in announcing his appointment. "Although I know this will be a foridable task, I know I have the suppourt of my fellow colonists here on the Weisshorn Moon."
(OOC: Griffen has agreed to handle the admin of the moon while Tillery focuses what little time he has in helping Sihnon get growing. He will still be contributing tier and of course visiting.)

Land for sale in Suzhou
To help reduce tier costs, the town of Suzhou is selling a plot of land, with first choice given to other SL browncoats.
The plot is 512 square meter mainland plot near Suzhou. It's separated from the town proper by Zhengville and another plot owned by Turn Pike Realty. It shares a property line with a small outpost owned by Nack Burnes of Blackburne.
Those interested in purchasing can contact Tillery Woodhen in-world.

Economy forces Suzhou to reach for help
Thanks to the rather rocky economy, the town of Suzhou is currently reaching out to help keep the town going.
Because of the layoff of the town's biggest tier holder, the village is looking for contributors help pay for the tier.
So far, about 3000 square meters of tier have been donated to the group and about L$4000 has been contributed to the town's tip jar. Suzhou is also discussing selling an outlying parcel to reduce the total tier needed.
Anyone interested in contributing to help Suzhou can contact Tillery Woodhen in world or contribute to the community tip jar at the Suzhou Marketplace.

RP: Suzhou port open for business
The Badger Station, Suzhou's spaceport, is now ready for visitors.
The port, with bar, stores and fuel tanks, is the entry to the farming moon, which has had some changes of its own.
Suzhou has installed a working sewer system and built a new town hall where residents can go to pay rent on both market stalls and homes. A new clinic has also been built and is looking for supplies.
The moon, which is hoping to place itself as a refueling stop and breadbasket, has also planted more crops, including grapes and sunflowers.

RP: Suzhou loses resident in battle
Ceasar Otsuka, a Suzhou resident, was shot and killed in battle on Hale's Moon recently.
Ceasar, a small-haul captain, had answered a mayday by the Browncoat settlement for support in fighting with a group calling itself Alliance Loyalists. The Loyalists are Alliance soldiers who have abandoned the official Alliance chain of command and gone rogue.
Ceasar was a regular visitor to several of the moons, especially Blackburne and Hale's Moon where he often delivered grain and needed medical supplies.
Ceasar was also a veteran of the Unification War. He had served as an Alliance soldier drafted from his home planet of Persephone. Since the war, he has been a strong supporter of the Browncoat settlements in the sector. He often defended friends in Blackburne during the moon's frequent reaver attacks.

Town to offer help to Hales refugees
Hale's Moon, a browncoat moon on the rim, was devastated last night by asteroids hitting the town itself.
In response, the village of Suzhou is offering shelter and grain to victims of the disaster. Many of the residents will need to stay with local residents or in tents. Those willing to offer shelter can contact Tillery Woodhen in-world. Refugees can also contact him if they prefer to use tents in the open areas of the village.
